Planets Viewer: A 3D Solar System Experience
Planets Viewer is an Android application developed by 4 Free that offers a 3D view of our Solar System's planets along with their detailed information. The app provides a visually stunning experience using OpenGL ES 2.0 graphics with fragment shaders, bump mapping, and dynamic lighting. The program includes multiple planets such as Mercury, Venus, Earth, Moon, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto. The texture of Pluto is based on data from NASA's New Horizons Mission.
In addition, the app has a user-friendly interface that enables users to rotate and zoom into planets with ease. Double-tapping the screen will stop/play light animation. Moreover, the application has a planetary fact sheet that describes each planet's characteristics. Planets Viewer is distributed for free, with no warranty.
